Philosophy

At Sikesdesign we listen to our clients and team members, provide our knowledge and experience, deliver superior results, and respond to our clients and the project team. We provide the latest building science knowledge and best practices while understanding the risk tolerance of our clients and providing levels of waterproofing performance so the client can make an informed decision based on their ability to mitigate risk not our desire to provide the most bullet proof projects possible.

We choose to contract with our clients to benefit the client and reduce risk of exploding costs. We take the risks of increased design costs by providing lump sum contracts. We will also enter into guaranteed max field review service contracts that takes on the risk of poor contractor performance requiring more field review meetings. We spent the last two years working for a developer and working with Olympic Consulting Services to try to accomplish many of the standard building envelope tasks.

We found that the difference between the estimated and actual costs were excessive. At Sikesdesign we distinguish ourselves by doing what we say were are going to do and eliminating the risk to the client at the end when teamwork is necessary to complete the job and finances are tight.
